The Canadian winds (and lack of scripted U.S. dramas) bring two new series from the Great North.

“Sullivan’s Crossing” (CW, 8 p.m.) concerns a big city neurosurgeon played by Morgan Kohan who returns to her small hometown in Nova Scotia to reconnect with her dad (Scott Patterson). Once back, she runs into dudes who include Chad Michael Murray and Allan Hawco.

The other new series, “The Spencer Series” (CW, 9 p.m.) has another estranged parent played by Lea Thompson as a mystery novelist who agrees to join her daughter Stacey Faber, an ex-cop, in a new small town detective agency.

Need another documentary series following a soccer star? The new four-episode “Beckham” (Netflix, streaming) doesn’t even need his first name to let you know it’s about David Beckham’s life.

The achievements of a pair of athletes, who set records racing up mountaintops, have their achievements listed — and questioned — in the documentary “Race to the Summit” (Netflix, streaming).

The revived “Quantum Leap” (NBC, 8 p.m.) returns for a second season.

The campy series based on the horror franchise “Chucky” (Syfy, USA, 9 p.m.) is back for its third season with a twist — the evil doll is in the White House.

“SurrealEstate” (Syfy, 10 p.m.), a scripted series starring Tim Rozon as a real estate agent who specializes in haunted houses, returns to a second season. Sarah Levy and Tennille Read also star.

A fifth season starts for “Icons Unearthed” (Vice, 10 p.m.), which this season will concentrate on James Bond movies.

“Haunted Mansion” (Disney+, streaming), the box office flop based on a theme park ride, makes its streaming premiere, with a cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito and Rosario Dawson.

“America Outdoors with Baratunde Thurston” (PBS, 8 p.m.) goes to Utah.

October is a fitting time for new seasons for “Ghost Adventures” (Discovery, 9 p.m.)

“Nova” (PBS, 9 p.m., shack local listings) begins a new four-part series about how the Earth was formed. “Ancient Earth.”

The final episode of “Evolution Earth” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) looks at how grasslands could slow climate change.

“Magnum P.I.” (History, 9 p.m.) resumes its 10th season with a pair of episodes.

Also back for its 10th season is the blade smithing competition “Forged in Fire” (History, 9 p.m.).

Whoever leaves tonight’s episode of “Survivor” (CBS, 8 p.m.) probably won’t be someone who begs to begs to be voted out, as happened in last week’s premiere.

“The Amazing Race” (CBS, 9:30 p.m.) has a few more tasks to do in Thailand.

Brian Baumgartner, Lisa Ann Walter and Timothy Simons play “Celebrity Jeopardy!” (ABC, 8 p.m.).

“Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” (ABC, 9 p.m.) has Kim Fields, Ken Mitchell and Penn Jillette.

Jason Alexander, Rosie O’Donnell, Oscar Nunez and Lauren Ash play “The $100,000 Pyramid” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

It’s NFL night on “The Masked Singer” (Fox, 8 p.m.). Taylor Swift won’t show up. Last week, they unmasked Anthony Anderson.

Adam DeVine and Dwight Howard are guest advisors on “Snake Oil” (Fox, 9 p.m.), a show that should be funnier than it is.

“Nightwatch” (A&E, 9 p.m.) responds to a car accident involving kids.

Lisa stands up for herself on “The Real Housewives of Miami” (Bravo, 9:30 p.m.).

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) begin their reunion episodes.

Leah and Cora teach residents about physical, mental and spiritual health on the first of three episodes of “Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living” (BET, 8:30 p.m.).

On “The Ms. Pat Show” (BET, 10:30 p.m.), Pat launches a podcast.

Doubt creeps into Anna’s head on “American Horror Story: Delicate” (FX, 10 p.m.).

“Archer” (FXX, 10 p.m.) suffers technical difficulties.

A daughter put up for adoption 14 years ago is visited on “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” (MTV, 8 p.m.).

“The Blackening” (Starz, 9 p.m.), a horror movie about black friends staying in a cabin in the woods, makes its premium cable debut.

Charlton Heston is star of the month on Turner Classic Movies, which begins its salute with a day of films, with “Treasure Island” (6:15 a.m.), “The Three Musketeers” (8:30 a.m.), “The Four Musketeers” (10:30 a.m.), “Counterpoint” (12:30 p.m.), “The Big Country” (2:30 p.m.), “Major Dundee” (5:30 p.m.),  “Ben-Hur” (8 p.m.), “Khartoum” (midnight), “The War Lord” (2:30 a.m.) and “55 Days at Peking” (4:45 a.m.).

Baseball playoffs continue with their Wild Card games, with Texas at Tampa Bay (ABC, 3 p.m.) and Toronto at Minnesota (ESPN, 4:30 p.m.) in the American League; and Arizona at Milwaukee (ESPN2, 7 p.m.) and Miami at Philadelphia (ESPN, 8 p.m.) in the National League.

College football has Jacksonville State at Middle Tennessee State (ESPNU, 8 p.m.) and Florida International at New Mexico State (CBS Sports, 9 p.m.).
