Kieran Shipka and Julie Bowen star as a teen and her mom trying to avoid a “Sweet Sixteen Killer” on that might return on Halloween night after previously killing in the 1980s, to which they are accidentally sent. Randall Park, Olivia Holt and Lochlyn Munro also star in the comedy horror film “Totally Killer” (Prime Video, streaming). 

Lots of horror films will debut this month, of course. Another is “Pet Seminary: Bloodlines” (Paramount+, streaming), a prequel to the 2019 movie (itself a remake of 1989 movie) based on the Stephen King novel. Its cast includes Henry Thomas, Forrest Goodluck, Pam Grier and David Duchovny. 

The hedge fund world is the setting for the thriller “Fair Play” (Netflix, streaming) with Phoebe Dynevor, Eddie Marsan and Rich Sommer star.

The 100th anniversary of Walt Disney Animation Studios is marked with the restoration of “More Classic Disney Animation Shorts” (Disney+, streaming), from the early days starring Mickey, Minnie, Donald and the rest.

“Desperately Seeking Soulmate: Escaping Twin Flames Universe” (Prime Video, streaming) is a three-part documentary about an internet cult that surprisingly lured what seemed to be pretty smart people to endorse the messianic tendencies of the annoying leader. 

The drummer and composer Max Roach is profiled on a new “American Masters” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings). 

The season ends for the prequel series “The Continental: From the World of John Wick” (Peacock, streaming). 

“The Wheel of Time” (Prime Video, streaming) has its second season finale. 

A new season comes for the miners on “Bering Sea Gold” (Discovery, 9 p.m.), who never seem to have an off season.

Alison Sweeney returns as the title character of “A Zest for Death: A Hannah Swenson Mystery” (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, 9 p.m.). in which Barbara Niven plays her mother. 

“The Very Very Best of the 80s” (AXStv, 8 p.m.) has some new episodes. 

William Shatner hosts the sixth season premiere of “The UnXplained” (History, 9 p.m.) in an episode that looks at the Earth’s crust. 

Someone on “Rebuilding Black Wall Street” (OWN, 9 p.m.) tries to preserve her family home where descendants were victims of the Tulsa Race Massacre. 

The found-footage franchise has a double feature, “V/H/S/94” (AMC, 10 p.m.) and “V/H/S/99” (AMC, 12:15 a.m.).

That Bigfoot is the focus of the fourth season start of “The Proof is Out There” (History, 10 p.m.) brings some doubt about the kind of proof they are presenting. 

A two hour “20/20” (ABC, 9 p.m.) has a story of an inmate and corrections officer vanishing. 

Reusable sandbags are pitched on “Shark Tank” (ABC, 8 p.m.). 

On “Gold Rush” (Discovery, 8 p.m.), Rick brings on a new crew member. 

The Vegas Golden Knights are profiled on “Stanley Cup Champion Film” (ESPn2, 10 p.m.). 

“Deadlocked: How America Shaped the Supreme Court” (Showtime, 8 p..m.) concentrates on the 1990s.
