The new eight-episode natural history series “Life on the Planet” (Netflix, streaming) not only has Morgan Freeman as narrator, but the recreation of extinct creatures, courtesy Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic.

Meanwhile, “Nature” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) begins a four-episode series looking at sea creatures, starting with smarter breeds of whales and fish. 

Then “Nova” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) ends its for-part series about the early days of the planet, 

David Oyelowo stars in the UK short film “The After” (Netflix, streaming) about a ride share driver who is forced by a passenger to confront his grief over losing a family member to a violent crime. Jessica Plummer and Amelie Dokubo also star. 

From Poland comes the series “Absolute Beginners” (Netflix, streaming), about a pair of friends who go to the seaside to make a film that will get them into film school. (Not to be confused with the 1986 British film of the same name, with David Bowie). 

“Pawn Stars do America” (History, 8 p.m.) returns for a second season, starting with a two hour episode in Texas.

Teams travel from Vietnam to India on “The Amazing Race” (CBS, 9:30 p.m.).

“Quantum Leap” (NBC, 8 p.m.) jumps to Hollywood, where an assistant’s client is in danger.

It’s Harry Potter night on “The Masked Singer” (Fox, 8 p.m.), whatever that means. The show unmasked the Royal Hen last week and it was Billie Jean King. 

A new “Nick News” (Nickelodeon, 8 p.m.) looks at young migrants.

Maggie and Cal look for a missing camper on “Sullivan’s Crossing” (CW, 8 p.m.).

“The Spencer Sisters” (CW, 9 p.m.) helps a restauranteur’s reputation. 

The building of the Eiffel Tower, as part of a race to build a monument over 1,000 feet high is told on “Secrets of the Dead” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings). 

“Magnum P.I.” (NBC, 9 p.m.) looks for a missing witness who can exonerate an innocent man accused of murder. 

There seems to be a lot of volunteers for leaving “Survivor” (CBS, 8 p.m.) this season. 

“Celebrity Jeopardy” (ABC, 8 p.m.) is played by Mira Sorvino, Adam Rodriguez and Peter Schrager. 

Gabriel Iglesias, Noah Mills and Danielle Pinnock play “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” (ABC, 9 p.m.). 

And “The $100,000 Pyramid” (ABC, 10 p.m.) Jordin Sparks, Jason Ritter, Nikki Glaser and Wayne Knight. 

Que’s web of lies unravels on “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” (BET, 9 p.m.).

 “Snake Oil” (Fox, 9 p.m.) has Natasha Leggero and Ice T as guest advisors.

More disappointment is likely on “Expedition Bigfoot” (Discovery, 10 p.m.).

“Ghost Adventures” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) goes to Death Valley, which seems like a natural destination. 

Seven remaining chefs make seafood sandwiches on “Guy’s Grocery Games” (Food, 9 p.m.). 

“To Catch a Smuggler” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) finds cocaine smuggled in cakes and fish. 

An observatory in Puerto Rico is chosen as one of the “Engineering Catastrophes” (Science, 9 p.m.). 

“Chucky” (Syfy, USA, 9 p.m.) has a confrontation at a Halloween ball.

Zoey takes on her first sals call on “SurrealEstate” (Syfy, 10 p.m.).

Turner Classic Movies’ month-long Wednesday night showcase of Charlton Heston concludes with “Soylent Green” (8 p.m.), “The Omega Man” (10 p.m.), “The Wreck of the Mary Deare” (midnight), “Skyjacked” (2 a.m.) and “The Awakening” (4 a.m.).

During the day are tales of unrequited love, with “The Gold Rush” (8 a.m.), “Invitation to the Dance” (10 a.m.), “The Red House” (11:45 a.m.), “Rebel Without a Cause” (1:45 p.m.), “Of Human Bondage” (3:45 p.m.) and “The Strange Love of Martha Ivers” (5:45 p.m.). 

NBA action has Boston at New York (ESPN, 7 p.m.) and Dallas at San Antonio (ESPN, 9:35 p.m.).
