Taping my show last week means the Shane MacGowan tribute will have to wait a week. 

Instead, today’s Capital Radio had a couple songs about December, and 25 musical numbers in a sort of opposite of a countdown.

There were a lot of birthdays to count up as well — including Southside Johnny, turning 75 today, as well as Freddy Cannon (87), Jay-Z (54), Chris Hillman(79), Cassandra Wilson (68), Anna McGarrigle (79) and Bob Mosley of Moby Grape (81). 

And one for Dennis Wilson, the Beach Boy born this day in 1944.

To mark the end of Bob Dylan’s fall tour, we played most of the original versions of the city-specific covers h played along the way, in Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Cincinnati and Montreal.
