Participants in the long-running “Dancing with the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.) have long since gone beyond the merely famous. Once again, you’ll be hard-pressed to recognize half of those taking part in season 33, starting tonight.
But one of them is infamous. It’s Anna Delvy, the con artist who posed as a wealthy heiress looking for entry into the New York art scene, and subject of the Netflix series “Inventing Anna,” who has been under house arrest and facing deportation for her role in defrauding investors. She’ll be the first on the show to be dancing with the additional handicap of an ankle monitor (it’s in the publicity photo above).
Also on the cast, Jenn Trann, who has already broken her engagement following last week’s finale of “The Bachelorette.” The last “Bachelor,” Joey Graziadei, who has managed to stay engaged following his finale in March, is also taking part.
Who else? That nerdy looking guy from the U.S. Olympic gymnastic team, Stephen Nedoroscik; B-movie stars Eric Roberts and Tori Spelling; and Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher. From the NBA comes Dwight Howard; from the NFL, Danny Amendola. Everyone else? You’re kind of on your own.
Alfonso Ribeiro returns to host with co-host Julianne Hough, whose brother Derek is on the judging panel alongside Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.
