Ella Purnell of “Yellowjackets” stars as “Sweetpea” (Starz, 8 p.m.), a young woman bullied in school, ignored in adult life, who spends her spare time composing lists of people she’d like to kill. Pushed to the brink, she starts doing so. The dark comedy from the UK is based on C.J. Skuse’s novel.
It’s unusual enough to have a new drama premiere on public television on a Thursday night, let alone a 10-year old series from Spain. But the Spanish language “Velvet” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings), with English subtitles, is a saga about the heir to a top fashion house in Spain in the late 1950s who falls in love with a seamstress. Viewers have compared to “Downton Abbey.” Will PBS play all four seasons and 55 episodes? (If not, it’s also streaming on Prime Video).
The new animated series “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Laura Croft” (Netflix, streaming), extends the life of the video game heroine, now with a voice provided by Hayley Atwell.
