A different kind of football occurs on broadcast TV tonight — the National Women’s Soccer League championship between the Washington Spirit vs. Gotham FC (CBS, 8 p.m.) live from San Jose.
Otherwise there’s the usual primetime college football, with Nebraska at Penn State (NBC, 7 p.m.), Tennessee at Florida (ABC, 7:30 p.m.) and BYU at Cincinnati (Fox, 8 p.m.). The rest of the day’s football roster is listed below.
Toni Braxton’s hit song from 2000 inspires the new made-for-TV movie “Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.), in which she stars as an author betrayed by her boyfriend. Yvette Nicole Brown and Essence Atkins also star.
After its Taylor Swift-adjacent hit “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” (Hallmark, 10 p.m.) last year, they try a football romance again, this time in Buffalo, with “Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) stars Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario with a supporting cast that includes Joe Pantoliano, Steve Schirripa and Tracy Pollan.
More holiday romance is found in the new “Christmas on Every Page” (Great American Family, 8 p.m.) about a woman returning home to help her family’s bookstore, only to meet an artist. Rose Reid and Jake Allyn star.
“The Death Investigator with Barbara Butcher” (Oxygen, 9 p.m.) explores body parts found in a suitcase that washed ashore on Virginia Beach
A new show looks at the inner workings of another flight hub in “Toronto Airport Uncovered” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.), where the planes tend to be a bit frozen.
The horror movie “The Conjuring: Last Rites” (HBO, 8 p.m.), with Mia Tomlinson and Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson and Ben Hardy, makes its premium cable debut.
Svengoolie presents “Curse of the Undead” (MeTV, 8 p.m.).
A replay of Nathan Lane’s visit to Turner Classic Movies has his two picks “Double Indemnity” (8 p.m.) and “Chinatown” (10 p.m.). The midnight noir is “The Strip” (12:30 a.m.), followed by two movies about pirates in the Caribbean with “The Spanish Main” (2:15 a.m.) and “The Crimson Pirate” (4 a.m.). The midday musical is “Gigi” (noon).
Basketball includes Knicks at Orlando (NBA, 5 p.m.) and Detroit at Milwaukee (NBA, 8 p.m.).
