The late night hosts are back for the new year after a couple of weeks of holiday time off, and they’ll have a lot to talk about.“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (CBS, 11:35 p.m.) has Ethan Hawke; “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC, 11:35 p.m.), fresh from a Critics’ Choice Award on Sunday, has Ben Affleck, above. And on the day Sen. Mark Kelly was targeted with retribution by the Pentagon, he’s the guest on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” (Comedy Central, 11 a.m.).

“Antiques Roadshow” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) begins its 30th season at Red Butte Garden & Arboretum in Salt Lae City. 

Twelve sibling teams take part on the new culinary spinoff “Baking Championship: Next Gen” (Food, 8 p.m.) with their first assignment: cupcakes. Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown are judges. 

“Name That Tune” (Fox, 8 p.m.) ends its fifth season of song-guessing, hosted by Jane Krakowski and Randy Jackson. 

Ron and Matt try to convince a child to get a shot on “St. Denis Medical” (NBC, 8 p.m.).

“The Wall” (NBC, 9 p.m.), a game show hosted by Chris Hardwick, begins its sixth season. 

Michelle’s car accent has a ripple effect on “Brilliant Minds” (NBC, 10 p.m.). 

“Mysteries of the Unknown” (Travel, 8 p.m.) seeks the chupacabra. 

The second season finale of “Ancient Aliens: Origins” (History, 9 p.m.) looks at subterranean hideouts. 

The first of a two part salute to songwriter Sammy Cahn on Turner Classic Movies begins with “Three Coins in the Fountain” (8 p.m.), “Robin and the 7 Hoods” (10 p.m.), “The Tender Trap” (12:15 a.m.), “Anchors Aweigh” (2:15 a.m.) and “It Happened in Brooklyn” (4:45 a.m.). 

During the day, TCM movies are about big bets with “Times Square Lady” (6 a.m.), “Lady Luck” (7:15 a.m.), “Married Bachelor” (9 a.m.), “A Very Honorable Guy” (10:30 a.m.), “The Big Gamble” (11:45 a.m.), “Three Bites of the Apple” (1 p.m.), “Sky Full of Moon” (2:45 p.m.), “Meet Me in Las Vegas” (4 p.m.) and “It Happened at the World’s Fair” (6 p.m.). 

NBA action includes Knicks at Detroit (Peacock, 7 p.m.), Denver at Philadelphia (Peacock, 8:30 p.m.) and Golden State at Clippers (Peacock, 10 p.m.). 

Men’s college basketball includes Nebraska at Ohio State (Fox Sports 1, 6:30 p.m.), Oregon at Rutgers (Peacock, 7 p.m.), William & Mary at Charleston (CBS Sports, 7 p.m.) and USC at Michigan State (Fox Sports 1, 8:30 p.m.). 

It’s Sweden vs. Czechia (NHL, 8:30 p.m.) in the IIHF World Junior Championship Game. Earlier, it’s Canada vs. Finland (NHL, 4:30 p.m.) for the bronze.
