The 2002 abduction and disappearance of 14-year-old girl from her bedroom in Salt Lake City fascinated the nation for months as local police dismissed suspects and the absence grew longer. When she was found nine months later amid an addled self-styled prophet walking the streets, it seemed a miracle. Now, enough time has passed to tell the whole story again in the documentary “Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart” (Netflix, streaming). Ashton Kutcher is the evil billionaire behind the engineering of a drug called Beauty that is the cause of it. Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall play FBI agents who look into it all. The cast also includes Bella Hadid, Isabella Rossellini and Anthony Ramos. It can’t be worse than Murphy’s other recent series, “All’s Fair” (Hulu, streaming). Three episodes of “The Beauty” show tonight.
Sophie Turner stars as an office worker who finds herself in the middle of a huge heist in the U.K. import “Steal” (Prime Video, streaming). Archie Madekwe and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd also star.
