The “Inside Out Classic” (Disney, Dixney XD, 7 p.m.) today pairs the actual hockey game of Washington at Rangers (ESPN, 7 p.m.) with the animated characters of the Pixar “Inside Out” series — and with all the hockey players in animated versions of themselves in real time.
Sounds like an impossible feat, but they’ve done it before with two previous NHL games using the characters of the Disney Channel series “Big City Greens.” They also subbed in characters from “Toy Story,” “Monsters Inc.” and “The Simpsons” into an NFL game and Disney characters into a real-time NBA game.
It will be the first time you’ll hear voices from the films, including Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear and Maya Hawke as Anxiet, alonside the ESPN commentators Drew Carter Kevin Weekes and Arda Ocal.
Of more import, the NCAA women’s basketball final today has South Carolina vs. UCLA (ABC, 2:30 p.m.). The men’s final is Monday.
