“‘The Killing’ seems re-invigorated. Lead actress once again puts on the same sweater from the last 2 whole seasons as she’s drawn back into the new investigation, though. Does she have a whole closet full of them? This is high camp, almost in-joke costume design. Shades of Indiana Jones’ hat!”
The thing I like about Mareille Enos’ character in “The Killing” is how unglamorous she is – that ponytail, that scowl, the lack of makeup. Looks like a serious police detective to me.
And the sweater may be as common in the Pacific Northwest as the umbrella. Cold, rainy weather has some wardrobe requirements.
Besides, if you’ve got a look that works for you, you use it. I look at old pictures of myself and marvel that I was still wearing the same clothes I’m wearing today. Not the same style; the very same pieces.
