Kids don’t come to Hollywood seeking fame by themselves; they bring their moms. The special “Raising Fame” (TLC, 9:30 p.m.) follows three sets of mothers and daughters seeking fame in Los Angeles, trolling for scripts during pilot season, another who wants to become a pop star, and a third whose mom is more interested than the teen in gaining her fame. If it catches on, it may become a series.
To give it a boost, it comes after a new “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” (TLC, 9 p.m.).
This is weird: “Top Chef” judge Tom Colicchio hosts his own fishing show, taking out famous fellow fishers from Plaxico Burress to Perry Farrell on a show called “Hooked Up with Tom Colicchio” (NBC Sports, 7 p.m.).
Speaking of fish, Shark Week lumbers along with “Top Ten Sharkdown” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) recounting the worst attacks, and “Great White Serial Killer” (Discovery, 10 p.m.), about a great white shark on a California beach — or if it’s like an earlier film this week, a completely imagined incident.
Whether or not real estate is on the upswing, the real estate TV shows seem on the upswing, with a new season starting on “Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles” (Bravo, 9 p.m.).
