Wednesday TV: Gaga on ‘Dance’; Nicks on ‘Talent’

Lady Gaga shows up as guest judge on “So You Think You Can Dance” ((Fox, 8 p.m.), perhaps also giving some creative costume advice to the remaining eight contestants — Jordan Casanova, Tadd Gadduang, Marko Germar, Ricky Jaime, Caitlynn Lawson, Jess LeProtto, Sasha Mallory and Melanie Moore.

Lady Gaga will also perform in te show’s results show with the dance group LXD on Thursday. And joining her on the expanded panel is another guest judge, Rob Marshall, the Tony-winning director and choreographer.

Four acts from Tuesday’s show advance to the Top 24 on “America’s Got Talent” (NBC, 9 p.m.). There will be time, also, for Stevie Nicks to sing.

The veto competition has played an important role so far this year on “Big Brother” (CBS, 8 p.m.). Maybe it will again tonight.

Tommy prepares for his 9/11 anniversary interview on a new “Rescue Me” (FX, 10 p.m.).

Ms. Barr seeks a blessing on the crop in a new “Roseanne’s Nuts” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.).

Ed Asner continues his guest role on “Royal Pains” (USA, 9 p.m.).

Brian Cox is spending the summer exploring “The Wonders of the Universe” (Science, 8 p.m.).

“Ghost Hunters International” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) travels to Ireland.

Jennifer Love Hewitt guest stars on a new “Hot in Cleveland” (TV Land, 10 p.m.); James Van Der Beek pops up on “Franklin & Bash” (TNT, 9 p.m.), the freshman series that was picked up Tuesday for a second season.

Sisters Karley and Kylie are up against each other in the Miss Sugarplum Fairy Pageant on “Toddlers & Tiaras” (TLC, 10 p.m.).

Andrea Anders plays a publicist on a new “Necessary Roughness” (USA, 10 p.m.).

“True Hollywood Story: Snooki” (E1, 10:30 p.m.) looks at the life story of the non-Italian “Jersey Shore” star.

It’s all about nannies today on Turner Classic Movies, with “Sitting Pretty” (8 p.m.), “Kathleen” (9:30 p.m.), “The Nanny” (11:15 p.m.), “A Woman’s Face” (1 a.m.), “Every Little Crook and Nanny” (3 a.m.) and “My Pal, Wolf” (4:45 a.m.).
