One of the best reviewed new shows of the season also had one of the highest audiences Tuesday. “New Girl,” starring Zooey Deschanel as a nerdy post-breakup girl with new roommates, attracted 10.1 million people doing better than any comedy premiere on Fox since “The Bernie Sanders Show.”

It didn’t feed off the season premiere of “Glee,” which began with just 8.9 million, down 25 percent from the 12.5 million who watched last year’s fall debut.

“Raising Hope” did well in its second season premiere for Fox, drawing 6.8 million.

The big winner of the night was the return of “NCIS,” which drew 19.5 million on CBS, and the spinoff “NCIS: LA,” which drew 16.7 million to follow it. That led to 14 million watching the new cop show that followed, “Unforgettable” with 14 million.

On ABC, the first results show for “Dancing with the Stars” dipped to 14.5 million; its “Body of Proof” return won 9.7 million viewers.

That left “The Biggest Loser” with 6.2 million for its two hour premiere and “Parenthood” dropping to 5.3 million.
