A celebrity who tied for third this week in judges score and was fourth overall in the scores so far this season was singled out by elimination by viewers Tuesday.

Kristin Cavillari, 24, the former star of “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” and “The Hills” was ousted despite a score of 24 this week for samba to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” with her professional partner Mark Ballas.

Judge Len Goodman said he had expected to see Cavallari in the finals.

Cavalleri’s total average of judges point was 21.6, less than two points behind the leader so far, J.R. Martinez, and ahead of seven other competitors still in the race, including Nancy Grave, averaging 10.3 and Chaz Bono, averaging 17.3.

Also in the bottom two was Hope Solo, the Olympic girls soccer goalie, who also had high scores, who was also tied for fourth this week.

It goes to prove the need to be a popular star. Though Cavallari may be a slightly more famous name than some, her MTV reality show skills didn’t get her far.

Her partner Ballas,24,  had previously won the competition with Kristi Yamaguchi and with Shawn Johnson. His other previous partners have included Melissa Joan Hart, Bristol Palin and Shannen Doherty.
