Those thrown off “The Voice” and “Dancing with the Stars” this week got to the end of their run thanks to low votes from fans and final decisions from judges.
On “Dancing” for the first time, judges concluded that of the bottom two vote-getters, Gavin DeGraw and Jaleel White, the former Urkel deserved to continue on the race; the singer-songwriter did not.
In a way it made sense: He got the lowest vote total during Latin Week – 19 – and had been tied (with Melissa Gilbert) for lowest average dance score after five weeks among those still competing.
Still leading on the show is Katherine Jenkins, who scored her second near perfect 29 this week; William Levy is just behind her with an equal score for his Latin dance.
Judges deciding who walks has been the practice all along on “The Voice,” where the teams of Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton shrunk.
Lindsey Pavao and Ashley De La Rosa were the lowest vote-getters on Aguilera’s team; after their “last chance performance,” Aguilera chose Pavao.
It was Erin Willett and RayLynn forced to have last chance performances to stay on Shelton’s team; he chose Willett to stay.
Judges Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green will have to make their choices next week.
