The “Do Something Awards” (VH1, 9 p.m.) began as a way to salute ordinary young people doing extraordinary things in helping others. Celebrities helped out, but it was largely about the unsung.

Now, like most everything else on TV, it’s about the celebrities as well. So let’s give a big hand and a statue to Ben Affleck, Will.i.am, Kristen Bell and both Lea Michelle and Cory Monteith of “Glee.”

There’s still a civilian winner of $100,000 for the finalists, who have set up programs helping Sudan, fixing the global water crisis, aiding foster and disabled children, and students in Honduras. But there is plenty of time to honor Emma Stone, Hope Solo and  Giuliana Rancic. Sharing host duties are the guys from “New Girl,” Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris. It was taped Sunday in Santa Monica.

The best of the reality competition shows are those involving actual creativity. So here’s the third season of “Face Off” (Syfy, 9 p.m.), the contest that finds the new generation of special effects makeup artists.

Another crop of contestants step up to the challenges tonight in the 90 minute premiere including a new “Star Wars” character. As host, Neville Page becomes a new judge replacing Patrick Tatopoulos, who leaves the show after tonight.

Dr. Oz returns to “NY Med” (ABC, 10 p.m.) to replace a heart valve.

Twelve contestants who were previously cut on “America’s Got Talent” (NBC, 8 p.m.) now get a chance to return through the Wild Card round.

Following that, the comedy pilots that NBC premiered during Olympics get another screening, this time with ads: “Go On” (NBC, 10 p.m.) and “Animal Practice” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

“Our America with Lisa Ling” (OWN, 10 p.m.) looks into lifestyles beyond monogamy.

What Not to Wear” (TLC, 10 p.m.) concludes its ninth season.

Wonder what empty chair they’ll be talking to on “Piers Morgan Tonight” (CNN, 9 p.m.).

Kay Francis is the star all day on Turner Classic Movies with a prime time lineup that includes “Guilty Hands” (8 p.m.), “The House on 56th Street” (9:30 p.m.), “Mandalay” (10:45 p.m.), “Stranded” (midnight), “Give Me Your Heart” (11:30 a.m.), “My Bill” (3:15 a.m.) and “Play Girl” (4:30 a.m.).
