The death of Neil Armstrong Saturday at 82 is noted with a special day of programming on History.

It begins early with the space program documentary “Failure is Not an Option” (8 a.m. and 2 p.m.) and continues with “Moonshot” (10 a.m. and 4 p.m.), “Our Generation: Apollo 11: The Moon Landing” (noon), “Tech Effect: Apollo 11” (12:30 p.m.) and “Modern Marvels: Apollo 11” (1 p.m.).

That’s more than most networks have done for the first man to walk on the moon, but it doesn’t budge its primetime schedule of “Pawn Stars” (History, 8 and 8:30 p.m.), “Top Gear” (History, 9 p.m.) and “Counting Cars” (History, 10 and 10:30 p.m.).

TLC will not say it’s becoming the freak show channel; rather that it is introducing you to different people you would otherwise not meet. Hence, “Abby & Brittany” (TLC, 10 and 10:30 p.m.), which would otherwise be called “The Two Headed Girl Show.” It’s about a pair of 22 year old conjoined twins in Minnesota living the exuberant life of a two headed girl.

The semifinals finally come for “America’s Got Talent” (NBC, 8 p.m.) as twelve contestants perform; only three of them will be saved after viewers votes.

The mid-season finale for “Pretty Little Liars” (ABC Family, 8 p.m.) comes on the night of Mayas murder trial.

Annie goes to Cuba on “Covert Affairs” (USA, 10 p.m.).

Pirate makeup is the challenge on “Face Off” (Syfy, 9 p.m.).

What to do during “The Week the Women Went” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.)? How about renovate the train station.

“Addicted” (Discover Fit & Health, 10 p.m.) returns for a new season, as does “19 Kids and Counting” (TLC, 9 p.m.), whose numbers are holding steady for now.

Oprah Winfrey’s annual income has fallen #125 million, Forbes reports, down from $290 million to $165 million. And all her best moments might have been in the past. Thus: “The Oprah Winfrey Show: TV Guide’s 25 Best Moments” (OWN, 9 p.m.).

A new student (and her mom) arrive on “Dance Moms” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.).

Ava Gardner is the star all day on Turner Classic Movies, where primetime is dominated by “55 Days at Peking” (8 p.m.) followed by “The Bribe” (10:45 p.m.), “Mogambo” (12:30 a.m.), “Seven Days in May” (2:30 a.m.), and “My Forbidden Past” (4:45 a.m.).

There’s no exhibition football tonight, but there is a new episode of “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Miami Dolphins” (HBO, 10 p.m.).

More early rounds of the U.S. Open (ESPN2, 1 and 7 p.m.).
