It’s not clear which jobs would be plentiful if Mitt Romney gets elected. But comedy writers would apparently have it easy. A new study by the Center for Media and Public Affairs found that since the nominating conventions, late night talk shows said more jokes about Romney than all the Democrats combined.

Specifically, the report said, Mitt Romney was the target of 148 jokes, more than twice the 138 jokes told about Barack Obama (62).

The disparity was greatest on “Late Show with David Letterman,” the report said, as Lettterman told 44 jokes about Romney and only nine about President Obama.

The opening monolgues of Letterman, Jay Leno on the “Tonight Show,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” were studied from Aug. 27 to Oct. 3, 2012.

Obama was the second biggest target of the list with 62 but the list also included Bill Clinton (28_, Clint Eastwood (18) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (14).
