Can we all just get along?

The beating victim and sometime reality star who uttered those words, Rodney King, may now be dead, but his question lives on.

And the day after a bruising, bitter campaign ended, it may be time to find ways to seek similarities over differences.

So it’s a good time for tonight’s episode of “Nature” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings), “Animal Odd Couples,” which focuses on unlikely friendships that form between members of different species — a cougar and a labrador retriever; a dog and bunny, a coyote and lion and a seeing eye goat for a blind horse.
The phenomenon of cross-species relationships may be a thing — it will also be explored on the upcoming Nat Geo Wild series “Unlikely Animal Friends” later this month. But this one has some scientists talking about the cases — and it has Temple Grandin.
Later, an episode of “Nova ScienceNow” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) wonders what animals are thinking and checks their intelligence levels.
Is Washington State known for its cuisine? We’ll find out as the 10th season of the series goes to the Great Northwest in “Top Chef: Seattle” (Bravo, 10 p.m.), hosted by Padma Lakshmi. Twenty-one colorful chefs begin the competition and Wolfgang Puck joins the judges Tom Colicchio, Emeril Lagasse and Hugh Acheson.
“LOL Work” (Bravo, 11 p.m.) is a new series that looks into the office of an online comedy site. But if it’s anything like “Start Ups: Silicon Valley,” which started Tuesday, it will be shallow and full of beautiful, barely tolerable personalities.
While “The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.) is still offering its judges’ 20 singers to voters in the “live playoffs” on the way to make a Top 12 Thursday, “The X Factor” (Fox, 8 p.m.) has its own Top 12 ready to go, ready for us to vote for them at the same. This may be confusing.
A third reality competition at the same hour: “Survivor” (CBS, 8 p.m.).
Deacon tries to help Juliette with her problem mother on a new “Nashville” (ABC, 10 p.m.).
Haley gets arrested on “Modern Family” (ABC, 9 p.m.).
Tonight’s 16th season finale of “South Park” (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.) has a prescient title, “Obama Wins!”
Those big stone heads on Easter Island are still a puzzle to a team investigating them on “Nova” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).

The bootlegging of “Boardwalk Empire” (HBO, 10 p.m.) exists today, as a second season starts for “Moonshiners” (Discovery, 10 p.m.), following some old boys running stills in rural Virginia. The whole legality of their process may be questioned anew as a new lawman moves into town.

The month-long look at movies made from well known novels continues on Turner Classic Movies with “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” (8 p.m.), “The Call of the Wild” (10 p.m.), “She” (11:45 p.m.), “The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe” (1:45 a.m.), “Moby Dick” (3:30 a.m.) and “Lost Horizon” (5 a.m.).

In NBA action, it’s 76ers at Hornets (ESPN, 8 p.m.) and Spurs at Clippers (ESPN, 10:30 p.m.).
