deepSouthParanormalWith the success of “Duck Dynasty” (A&E, 10 p.m.), which is so popular I believe it is on all night every night, every network will be searching for shows featuring long bearded Southerners. Even the ghost hunting ones.

So here’s “Deep South Paranormal” (Syfy, 10 p.m.) with the long-bearded Hart Fortenbery, pictured, and Keith Ramsey leading a team into the spookier edges of bayou country. It follows a new episode of “Haunted Collector” (Syfy, 9 p.m.).

There’s a little bit of a drag — and a long time before David Tennant’s character reconnects with Janet Montgomery, but the conclusion of the two part miniseries “Spies of Warsaw” (BBC, 9 p.m.), based on the Alan Furst novel, is mostly satisfying, with its big budget scenes and pre-WWII sweep.

Now that it’s down to six, the finalists can each perform two songs tonight on “American Idol” (Fox, 8 p.m.) and with any luck, drop those useless group numbers. The first will be from the Bacharach/David songbook, the second a song the contestants wish they had written. Hard to believe Lazaro Arbos is the last guy standing — his is a case where the backstory trumps talent, though astoundingly he ended up in the top three last week.

Jack McBrayer pops up as a dentist on a new “The Middle” (ABC, 8 p.m.).

Manny’s dad Benjamin Bratt comes to town with his new girlfriend, Paget Brewster on “Modern Family” (ABC, 9 p.m.). And Phil has problems selling the house Claire and Cam are trying to flip.

Favorites outnumber fans in the merged tribe on “Survivor” (CBS, 8 p.m.), but there are rifts among them.

Rayna has to leave the double headlining tour and Juliette continues solo on “Nashville” (ABC, 10 p.m.). Does this mean she’s won?

The team on “Psych” (USA, 10 p.m.) travel to Las Vegas for a cop’s wedding and find a crime boss threatening to put a crimp in things.

An opened time capsule has something weird in it on “Criminal Minds” (CBS, 9 p.m.).

It will take four episodes for Richard Smith to recount “Australia’s First 4 Billion Years” on “Nova” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).

A second chance to get into “Hannibal” (NBC, 10 p.m.) as last week’s premiere is repeated in advance of Thursday’s second episode.

“The Truth About Exercise with Michael Mosley” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) sounds like pledge-time programming, but the network says it’s a science show.

It’s my duty to tell you that some people think “The Americans” (FX, 10 p.m.) is one of the best shows on TV right now. I just have to muster up the enthusiasm to check back in to see if it’s true.

Don’t confuse “Homicide Hunter” (Investigation Discovery, 8 p.m.) with the second season premiere of “Toy Hunter” (Travel, 9 p.m.).

The month-long Wednesday night salute to Laurence Olivier continues with “Sleuth” (8 p.m.), “A Little Romance” (10:30 p.m.), “Clash of the Titans” (12:30 a.m.) and “The Shoes of the Fisherman” (2:30 a.m.).

Baseball includes Yankees at Cleveland (ESPN2, 7 p.m.).

In NBA action, it’s Brooklyn at Boston (ESPN, 8 p.m.) and San Antonio at Denver (ESPN, 10:30 p.m.).

In hockey, it’s Boston at New Jersey (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.).
