Community-Puppets“Community” (NBC, 8 p.m.) has been known for taking some bold moves in the past, including a claymation episode, a paintball war and a video game one. Tonight, the chracters are replaced by handpuppets, “Avenue Q” style. The difference is that this episode is done without show creator Don Harmon, removed from the show before the start of the season. Judging from the picture, the Joel McHale puppet seems to have more hair than the real guy, though. Speaking of hair, Jason Alexander guest stars as a hairy mountain man who encounters the gang when their hot air balloon crashes in the sticks.

Other shows that could use the occasional puppet treatment: “Two and a Half Men” (CBS, 8:30 p.m.), “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS, 8 p.m.) and “The Vampire Diaries” (8 p.m.).

“American Idol” (Fox, 8 p.m.) seems to have been saving money in its guest stars on results night, mostly depending on past winners and performers. Tonight has two past winners, Kelly Clarkson and Scotty McCreery before Lazlo Arbos is the last male voted off (or there’s an upset of epic proportions ).

Former quarterback Kurt Warner hosts (rather clumsily) the new reality show “The Moment” (USA, 10 p.m.) in which more than singers get a shot at their dream. In the premiere, for example, it’s a woman who wants to be a sports photographer. As in other reality shows, she’s expected to have all the skills the moment they start to test her. It’s a show that deserves only a moment of your time.

“Archer” (FX, 10 p.m.) has grown to be one of the most popular scripted shows on cable this season. Tonight, creator Adam Reed goes back to his “Sealab 2021” roots for the season finale. Also reaching its season finale is first year entry “Legit” (FX, 10:30 p.m.), the show that apparently is not so legit to quit.

Like “America’s Next Top Model,” the top four finalists on a two hour episode of “Project Runway” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.) get to go to Europe, but scatter to different cities — Barcelona, Berlin, London and Paris — and only for a day, to get inspiration. Then they present their work to the judges, which include as guest John Legend.

Roseanne Barr guest stars as a talent agent on “The Office” (NBC 9 p.m.), called in by Andy to prove he’s a music star despite what the comments online say. It plays opposite another Ed Helms comedy role, in “The Hangover Part II” (HBO, 8 p.m.).

If you thought the premiere episode of “Hannibal” (NBC, 10 p.m.) was creepy, it soars into whole new weird territory with episode two.

The Matthew Perry comedy “Go On” (NBC, 9:30 p.m.) has its season finale. No word on whether the Matthew Perry vehicle will be canceled or ..go on.

It’s not like Leslie Knope doesn’t haven enough to do. But she wants to take over the town’s animal control anyway on “Parks and Recreation” (NBC, 8:30 p.m.).

A new season starts for “Farm Kings” (GAC, 9 p.m.), a reality series about brothers named King who farm near Pittsburgh mostly with their shirts off.

After being ambushed by David Letterman earlier this week about rehab, Lindsay Lohan makes her appearance on the sitcom of another rehab veteran, Charlie Sheen, on “Anger Management” (FX, 9:30 p.m.).

The way the title reads, it sounds like “Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell” (Food, 10 p.m.) is a dating show for single cooks. Also not a dating show, “Chasing Tail” (History, 10 p.m.) is a show about hunters trying to thin out deer herds in Connecticut so they don’t spread Lyme disease. (I’m sure there’s some sort of historical tie-in, though I can’t imagine what it is).

Nathan bets he can do a complicated illusion or he can be registered as a sex offender on a high stakes edition of “Nathan for You” (Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m.).

A school shooting occurs on “Glee” (Fox, 9 p.m.) and one of the guys on “Swamp People” (History, 9 p.m.) also gets accidentally shot, as Congress weighs gun violence issues.

“The Graham Norton Show” (BBC America, 10 p.m.) starts a new season on a new night, with Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Gerard Butler and Paramore as guests.

Just when you thought it was all behind you, here’s another college Final Four: the Frozen Four for hockey. In the semifinals from Pittsburgh, it’s UMass Lowell vs. Yale (ESPN2, 4:30 p.m.) and Quinnipiac vs. St. Cloud State (ESPN2, 8 p.m.).

In golf, the first round begins for The Masters (ESPN, 3 p.m.).

The films of Debra Paget are featured on Turner Classic Movies starting with her film with Elvis, “Love Me Tender” (8 p.m.) and continuing with “Les Miserables” (9:45 p.m.), “Demetrius and the Gladiators” (1:45 p.m.), “From Earth to the Moon” (1:30 a.m.), “Seven Angry Men” (3:30 a.m.) and “Most Dangerous Man Alive” (5:15 a.m.).

In hockey it’s Pittsburgh at Tampa Bay (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.). In the NBA, it’s New York at Chicago (TNT, 8 p.m.) and Oklahoma City at Golden State (TNT, 10:30 p.m.).
