Selena-Gomez-620x465It’s all about the young!

Who needs Oscars when you have the 15th annual Young Hollywood Awards (The CW, 8 p.m.), honoring emerging names in film, music and TV.

Aisha Tyler hosts the event from the Broad Stage in Santa Monica (not Hollywood), Calif., where fellow presenters include kathy Griffin, Derek Hough, Alyssa Milano, Dominic Monaghan, Jim Rash, Nat Faxon, Iam Somerhalder and Aimee Teegarden as presenters.

Does it give it away too much that the recipients include Selena Gomez (pictured), Lucy Hale, Kelly Osbourne and Cody Simpson?

A whole new network for the young begins today as well. One thing that’s original is the imported Australian comedy “Please Like Me” (Pivot, 8 p.m.) from admitted young person Josh Thomas, who comes off as a younger version of Chris Lilly of “Summer Heights High.” All six episodes show before the debut of the talk show “TakePart Live” (Pivot, 11 p.m.) with Jacob Soboroff and Cara Santa Maria.

One old guy on TV tonight is the 37th President, who, before he had to resign in disgrace 40 years ago, was filmed by his indicted aides who happened to be big enthusiasts for color 8 mm film. The resulting “Our Nixon” (CNN, 9 p.m.) is one of the first of what will be a series of prime time documentaries on the cable news network.

The feuding is all over in the hills along the Kentucky-West Virginia border, thanks to enterprise, moonshine and reality programming. So here’s “Hatfields & McCoys: White Lightning” (History 10 p.m.) chronicling a joint operation that still sort of seems illegal.

It’s always a big event when Oprah Winfrey deigns to visit “Late Show with David Letterman” (CBS, 11:30 p.m.), isn’t it?

Howard, Candice or Amanda will be evicted tonight on “Big Brother” (CBS, 9 p.m.).

It’s pirate night on “Wipeout” (ABC, 8 p.m.).

Coney Island carnival games are intended to be inspiration on “Project Runway” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.), where the guest judge is Kelly Osbourne. Her qualifications? She’s named Style Icon at the Young Hollywood Awards tonight as well.

It’s the season finale for The Rock’s reality series “The Hero” (TNT, 8 p.m.), with viewers choosing the winner.

A new hunt for a winner in the kitchen is sought on “Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell” (Food, 10 p.m.).

“Impractical Jokers” (truTV, 10 p.m.) returns for a new seasons of pranks and hidden cameras.

Summer Under the Stars starts its month-long stint on Turner Classic Movies, featuring a different star each day. The first is Humphrey Bogart all day with “High Sierra” (7 a.m.), “The Maltese Falcon” (9 a.m.), “To Have and Have Not” (10:45 a.m.), “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” (12:30 p.m.), “Tokyo Joe” (2:45 p.m.), “Beat the Devil” (4:15 p.m.), “In a Lonely Place” (6 p.m.), “The BIg Sleep” (8 p.m.), “Key Largo” (10 p.m.), “The Caine Mutiny” (midnight), “The Left Hand of God” (2:15 a.m.) and “The Harder They Fall” (4 a.m.).
