Performances from the four day event in Nashville last June make up the three hour “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” (ABC, 8 pm.) featuring Shania Twain, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw, performing together above, as well as Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, and the Zac Brown Band. But also: Jason Aldean, Lenny Kravitz and Kelly Clarkson. Little Big Town hosts the special.
Sounding like a variation of a John and Yoko peace stunt, Philippa Robinson’s “Americans in Bed” (HBO, 9 p.m.) features interviews with 10 couples about their relationships, all while they are in bed. Some are newlyweds, another has been married 71 years.
The third season starts in Baltimore at the crumbling Abacrombie Inn for “Hotel Impossible” (Travel, 10 p.m.), the series in which Anthony Melchiorri swoops in and helps guide improvements.
It’s a similar idea behind the new “Restaurant Takeover” (Cooking, 10 pm.) in which chef Derek Minkensky and designer Paula Velez help a father-son eatery in less than a week.
Hats off to Dean Norris, star not only of the critical darling “Breaking Bad” but also the network hit “Under the Dome” (CBS, 10 p.m.), which undergoes some mayhem under glass tonight.
Speaking of “Breaking Bad,” Aaron Paul and show creator Vince Gilligan join the guys from “Mythbusters” (Discovery, 10 p.m.) to look into whether some of the science they’ve used in the show actually rings true. It’s a little too late to look into this, though. What if that big magnet didn’t work, for example? Does that alter the whole story?
“King & Maxwell” (TNT, 9 p.m.) winds up its final season.
A teen prostitute is killed on a new “Major Crimes” (TNT, 9 p.m.).
“The Real Housewives of Miami” (Bravo, 9 p.m.), return for a new season of preening and bickering. We could do with less of that plastic surgery overdosed mother, too.
The classy Catherine Deneuve is the star all day on Turner Classic Movies with films that include “The Last Metro” (4 p.m.), “I’m Going Home” (6:15 p.m.), “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” (8 p.m.), “Tristana” (10 p.m.), “Ma Saison Preferee” (midnight), “Belle de Jour” (2:15 a.m.) and “The Hunger” (4:15 a.m.).
The 20th (!) season of “Top Gear” (BBC America, 8:30 p.m.) comes to end with a handful of excursions.
Monday Night Baseball has Angels at Yankees (ESPN, 7 p.m.).
