Another two new shows debut on the Esquire Network, as they continue to slowly fill up their schedule. In one, former NBA player Baron Davis asks famous people about their personal fashion styles on “How I Rock It” (Esquire, 10 p.m.). An off the beaten path travel show, “Alternate Route” (Esquire, 10:30 p.m.) looks for the more arcane corners of America.
Here’s an odd way to look at the Kennedy assassination: How it affected the Dallas Cowboys. That’s the focus on “Costas Tonight” (NBC Sports Network, 11 p.m.) in a special titled “No Day for Games: The Cowboys and JFK.”
It was Kennedy’s boost that helped put man in space and two episodes of “Nova” (PBS, 8 and 9 p.m., check local listings) show what’s new in these area — examining the extreme ends of the atmosphere in the first, and asteroids in the second. It’s followed by a documentary on the ISON comet, “Comet Encounter” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).
For the two episodes that make up the season finale of “The League” (FXX, 10 p.m.), Aziz Ansari guest stars as a plastic surgeon.
Cam takes Mitch and Lily to the family farm on “Modern Family” (ABC, 9 p.m.).
Gabourey Sidibe wonders why she’s in “American Horror Story: Coven” (FX, 10 p.m.), or her character does.
Jerry Van Dyke shows up as the visiting grandpa for Thanksgiving on “The Middle” (ABC, 8 p.m.). Apparently, he also has a talking car who is the great-grandmother.
Scarlett begins her tour with Luke on “Nashville” (ABC, 10 p.m.).
Blood ties finally expire on “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” (CBS, 8 p.m.) as a remaining daughter wants her mother gone.
They’re singing from British stars tonight on “The X Factor” (Fox, 8 p.m.). I’m thinking more Adele than Kinks. Actually it may be worse: It leads up to the OneDirection appearance tomorrow.
“Up” (ABC Family, 7 p.m.) and “Wall-E” (ABC Family, 9 p.m.) is a pretty good animation double feature.
College hoops tonight include Lehigh at Pittsburgh (ESPNU, 7:30 p.m.) and Iowa State at BYU (ESPNU, 9:30 p.m.). In the NBA, it’s Indiana at New York (ESPN, 7 p.m.) and Houston at Dallas (ESPN, 9:30 p.m.).
Hockey has Pittsburgh at Washington (NBC Sports Network, 8 p.m.).
The month-long Wednesday night salute to Burt Lancaster continues with “Mister 880″ (8 p.m.), “Judgment at Nuremberg” (9:45 p.m.), “Birdman of Alcatraz” (1 a.m.) and “The Train” (3:45 a.m.).
