oswald-more-300x300On the eve of the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination, there’s yet another special, “JFK: The Lost Tapes” (Discovery, 7 p.m.) boasts previously unreleased recordings between law enforcement officials and news reporters.

It’s interesting though to look at period documentaries and other films dealing with JFK on Turner Classic Movies: the 1960 “Primary” (8 p.m.) and the following year’s “Adventures on the New Frontier” (9:15 p.m.), the 1963 “Crisis” (10:30 p.m.), “Four Days in November” (midnight), released in 1964, and Cliff Robertson in “PT. 109” (2:15 a.m.).

Oh gosh, it’s Billy Joel night on “Glee” (Fox, 9 p.m.).

So weird to have actual music on VH1. But here’s a live showcase for newcomers, “You Oughta Know in Concert” (VH1, 9 p.m.) with Haim, Lorde, the Lumineers, Johnnyswim, Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande and Matt Nathanson performing at New York’s Roseland ballroom.

Politics sure play a big role in prime time. It’s election day for Kristina’s mayoral bid on “Parenthood” (NBC, 10 p.m.), Leslie Knope is a lame duck following her recall election loss on “Parks and Recreation” (NBC, 8 and 8:30 p.m.) and there’s a crisis in the campaign of the politician played by Lisa Kudrow on “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC, 9 p.m.).

It’s Thanksgiving on many sitcoms, from “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS, 8 p.m.) to “The Michael J. Fox Show” (NBC, 9:30 p.m.) and the visiting parents are guest stars Charles Grodin and Candice Bergen.

The assignment on “Project Runway All Stars” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.) is to create looks inspired by Bonnie and Clyde (Bullet-ridden?).

Craig Ferguson guests as a former boss on “Sean Saves the World” (NBC, 8 p.m.).

Don’t write any history papers based on the Mary Queen of Scots shorelines on “Reign” (The CW, 9 p.m.).

It hardly matters which two people are eliminated on “The X Factor” (Fox, 8 p.m.). It’s all about the appearance by OneDirection, the boy band created by Simon Cowell for the British version of the show.

Lena’s scar goes haywire on “The Returned” (Sundance, 9 p.m.).

NBA action includes Clippers at Thunder (TNT, 8 p.m.) and Bulls at Nuggets (TNT, 10:30 p.m.).

In football, it’s Saints at Falcons (NFL, 8:25 p.m.).

In college football, it’s Rutgers at Central Florida (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.); college basketball includes Indiana vs. Washington (ESPN2, 9:40 p.m.).
