radioCPRThe last show of the year had to do with celebrating songs that rang out the old as well. How many could there be?  I played about 30; enough to fill 90 minutes, if you throw in enough versions of the two best-known New Year’s Eve tunes from Robert Burns and Frank Loesser, respectively, “Auld Lang Syne” and “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?”

After that, a bunch of tracks from the Beatles performing live at the radio station  — not Radio CPR in 2013, but the BBC 50 years earlier. Then some folk inspired by “Inside Llewyn Davis,” including some more of that soundtrack, then some more contemporary acoustic brooding from Jason Isbell.

Finished off with some rock that included the Uruguayan’s version of the Beatles, Los Shakers, and finally some new M.I.A.
