Garfunkel-and-OatesSong parodies are having another moment, with Weird “Al” Yankovic debuting at No. 1 and the leading female duet funny song team starting its new series finally, “Garfunkel and Oates” (IFC, 10 p.m.).

Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci got a chuckle out of me when they named their duo a mashup of past male duos (dissing Simon and Hall in the process). They’ve toured and done comedy clubs and have been working forever on this series, which may seem like a distaff “Flight of Conchords” at first except that it’s mixed with the kind of naughty humor that made Amy Schumer a hit. Still, they have a lot of comedy friends who show up in their episodes including, tonight.

The newest series from Morgan Spurlock, “7 Deadly Sins” (Showtime, 11 p.m.), is a docu-series about just that. First up, gluttony, which is not exactly hard to find on cable these days.

On the new “Extreme Guide to Parenting” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) they showcase families they think are really weird. Well, most of them actually are.

Whatever happened to Aaron McGruder, creator of the comic strip turned animated show “The Boondocks”? He’s got a new series about a modern day messiah in Compton, “Black Jesus” (Cartoon Network, 11 p.m.).

Network summer programming means nothing because tonight, many affiliates will wipe them out with regional preseason football — and do much better.
