A shortened (or regular) two hour show almost didn’t begin at all, with the CDs completely inaudible at first. Eventually, though, it began with some Stax, continued with some Stones’ “Sticky Fingers,” since I was on a USA Today podcast this week, “Dad Rock,” talking about that album.
Then we moved to all the shows in town this week (or a lot of them) including Calexico tonight at the 9:30 Club, The B-52’s tonight at Wolf Trap, Willie Nile Saturday at Jammin’ Java, Paul Weller Tuesday at the 9:30, and Belle & Sebastian Thursday at Echostage.
Closed with a band that played last night at Merriweather Post Pavilion, The Decemberists, and the new one from Letitia Van Sant and the Bonafides.
