Reader comments and screeds from trolls can be so often over the top they can make for their own entertainment. That’s the entire point of the new show “Comment Section” (E!, 10:30 p.m.), hosted by comedian Michael Kosta. He reads the responses of the crazier aspects of the week, and this week there were probably a lot of them. The new show is a natural relative to “The Soup” (E!, 10 p.m.) that precedes it.
Just in time to respond to the lunacy of Thursday’s Republican debate, “Real Time with Bill Maher” (HBO, 10 p.m.) returns from a hiatus with guests Caitlin Flanagan, California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, Mary Matalin, Steve Schmidt and Michael Mann.
A tribute to choreographer George Balanchine by the School of American Ballet is repeated on “Live from Lincoln Center” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) to mark its 50th anniversary.
A second season starts in the workplace reality series “Human Resources” (Pivot, 10 p.m.) set in the TerraCycle recycling company in Trenton, N.J. Today they welcome workers from Toronto with that old Jersey charm.
More magicians show their stuff on “Masters of Illusion” (The CW, 8 p.m.).
If you want to be a majorette, you’d better “Bring It!” (Lifetime, 8 and 9 p.m.), according to this reality competition.
Black rain falls on the “Killjoys” (Syfy, 9 p.m.).
They’ve got to find the people who bombed the British Embassy on “Strike Back” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.).
A season summary on “Alaskan Bush People” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) might be more reasonable than the UFO-obsessed “Missing in Alaska” (History, 10 p.m.).
Katharine Hepburn certainly deserves a whole day of movies on Turner Classic Movies with “Little Women” (6 a.m.), “Sylvia Scarlett” (8 a.m.), “Quality Street” (10 a.m.), “Bringing Up Baby” (11:30 a.m.), “Peg and Mike” (1:15 p.m.), “Adam’s Rib” (3 p.m.), “Woman of the Year” (4:45 p.m.), “Alice Adams” (8 p.m.), “The Lion in Winter” (10 p.m.), “Mary of Scotland” (12:30 a.m.) and “Undercurrent” (4 a.m.). And there’s a couple of clips of her on from “The Dick Cavett Show” (TCM, 6:45 p.m. and 2:45 a.m.) in 1973.
Baseball includes Houston at Oakland (MLB, 10 p.m.).
Canadian football has Montreal at Ottawa (ESPN2, 4:30 p.m.).
