Started with a birthday salute to Jimmie Rodgers (who is alive) and Dee Dee Ramone (who is not). Played a lot of Keith Richards to celebrate his first solo album in 23 years.
I didn’t have that album, nor did have Ryan Adams’ album-length cover of Taylor Swift. But I played a lot of his recent stuff too before forging a path through country with Sturgill Simpson, George Jones and Hayes Carll among others.
The Pope’s visit to D.C. next week got a musical salute, including a not well known song by Prince. That led to some old school hip hop to end the show.
