Played a lot of Squeeze because Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford are playing the Birchmere Sunday, then a salute to Dennis Wilson, whose birthday was today (though he died in 1983), and Frank Zappa, who died this day in 1993 at the age of 52. Noted the death Thursday of Scott Weiland, found dead at 48 Thursday in his tour bus in Bloomington, Minn.
Dec. 4 was also the day in 1956 when Elvis Presley jammed with Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash, who were dubbed the Million Dollar Quartet. Here’s what I played on the radio tonight:
