An April Fool’s Day edition of the radio show actually found a few songs about the day, but many more about fools in general and one about April. Started with an hour of Marvin Gaye, though, on the 32nd anniversary of his death, when he was shot by his father one day before the singer’s 45th birthday.
The death of Thunderclap Newman at 73 became known today, so we played his one hit. Some Bowie got played to tie in with the big tribute concerts in New York City this week. Closed out with birthday salutes to Ronnie Lane of the Faces and reggae’s Jimmy Cliff.
