There were some songs from Cher who somehow turned 70 today; it was also Joe Cocker’s birthday, he died at 70 two years ago. Heard a great deal from Bob Dylan’s new album, “Fallen Angels” and closed with an album he released 50 years ago this week — no less than “Blonde on Blonde.” (His own 75th birthday is this Tuesday).

“Blonde on Blonde” was released the same day as “Pet Sounds,” so we heard from that classic as well — or rather, sessions and outtakes from it. It was both Joey Ramone’s birthday Thursday and, last month, the 40th anniversary of the release of the first Ramones album, so we heard all 29 minutes of that. Yes, there were some songs about plane crashes, and an old pal requested the Dave Clark Five.
