But Madonna still works hard to stay true to her music in recordings and tours, which that at times have resembled lavish, large scale performance art pieces. The latest filmed record of her tour “Madonna: Rebel Heart” (Showtime, 9 p.m.) collects performances from around the world on the tour that culminated in Sydney Olympic Park in March. It’s a big event of dance and costumes again, with elements (sway poles) that look borrowed from Cirque du Soleil. Plus she does “Material Girl,” “Holiday” and a “Dress You Up” medley that includes “Get Into the Groove,” “Everybody” and “Lucky Star.”

“Vice” editor Sean Smith has gotten some incredible access to leaders, so he sits with Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John Boehner and Harry Reid for “Vice Special Report: A House Divided” (HBO, 10 p.m.) that attempts to define when the country became so politically divisive. It began well before red hats and was sewn into the early days of Obama’s early term with the rise of the tea party that started to tear the Republican party apart, he finds.

New online is a kind of “MythBusters” spinoff with some of its alumni, Grant Imahara, Tory Belleci and Kari Byron look into the science of pop culture on the new “White Rabbit Project” (Netflix, streaming).

Also new today is a true crime series about hostage-taking and negotiation, “Captive” (Netflix, streaming).

Back for a third season, which takes them to Vienna, is “Mozart in the Jungle” (Amazon Prime, streaming).

And the reconstituted “Fuller House” (Netflix, streaming) is back for its second season which, if it’s anything like the first, goes out of its way to be as bad as the original.

Brittany Snow portrays Josh’s new girlfriend on “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” (The CW, 9 p.m.).

The pope visits Chicago on “The Exorcist” (Fox, 9 p.m.).

Good thing “MacGyver” (CBS, 8 p.m.) routinely carries pliers and speaker wire.

“Blue Bloods” (CBS, 10 p.m.) plays the race card.

“Shark Tank” (ABC, 9 p.m.) is pitched a better winter glove.

The month-long Friday night Myrna Loy salute on Turner Classic Movies continues with “Love Me Tonight’ (8 p.m.), “The Prizefighter and the Lady” (9:15 p.m.), “Night Flight” (11 p.m.), “Thirteen Women” (12:30 a.m.), “Scarlet River” (1:45 a.m.), “Penthouse” (2:45 a.m.) and “The Barbarian” (4:30 a.m.).

NBA action includes Houston at Oklahoma City (EPN, 8 p.m.) and Phoenix at Lakers (ESPN, 10:30 a.m.).
