The first, Zoe, is a transgender girl whose party signals the hopes of the supportive transgender community in her town. That her mother has been supportive throughout is one signal how things have changed.

The biggest star may be behind the camera — the Queen of Latin Pop Thalia is co-director and produces with her husband the record executive Tommy Mottola.

Speaking of singers, a winner is named on the 13th season finale of “The Voice” (NBC, 9 p.m.), which is usually the first sure step to a career of obscurity. A recap of the final performances is at 8.

The annual special “A Home for the Holidays” (CBS, 8 p.m.) mixes holiday musical performances with pitches to adopt. Josh Groban, Kelly Clarkson, Kacey Musgraves and Kane Brown are slated to sing.

“At Home with Amy Sedaris” (truTV, 10:30 p.m.) ends its season with a murder mystery when Michael Shannon plays a stranger at the doorstep with car trouble on a rainy night. The documentary “I Am Sam Kinison” (Spike, 10 p.m.) retells the life of the explosive comedian.

“The Naked Truth: Wasteland” (Fusion, 8 p.m.) looks at EPA head Scott Pruitt’s past history of trying to sue the EPA.

A special is devised from the released documents this fall for “JFK Declassified: The New Information” (History, 10 p.m.).

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner who stayed together after being on “Married at First Sight,” have their first baby and their own spinoff, “Married at First Sight: Jamie and Doug Plus One” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.).

The British comedian has a stand up special, “Russell Howard: Recalibrate” (Netflix, streaming).

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) begins an eighth season.

A twist throws the investigation on “Major Crimes” (TNT, 9 p.m.).
