CatherineTheGreat“Catherine the Great” (HBO, 10 p.m.) ruled for more than 30 years, but is covered in just four episodes on this new limited series. It stars someone with some royal bearing: Helen Mirren, who got an Oscar for playing Queen Elizabeth II in “The Queen.” The series, focusing on the end of her controversial reign, also stars Jason Clarke as Grigory Potemkin and Gina McKee as her confident Countess Praskovya Bruce.

Bruce Springsteen makes a late night appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC, 11:35 p.m.), to kick off the show’s week in Brooklyn.

Another possible casualty among the new fall network shows is the drama “Bluff City Law” (NBC, 10 p.m.). It’s not canceled per se, but production on it will end this month after 10 episodes. Tonight is the fifth episode, about a failed levee in Memphis.

On the new “Rock the Block” (HGTV, 9 p.m.) is a competition among designers whose first assignment from host Drew Scott is a master suite.

Hunter Hayes, Lee Brice and Easton Corbin play “The Love of Dogs Benefit Concert” (Hallmark, 10 p.m.) helping shelter and rescue dogs.

Lori turns to Candy for help on “The Deuce” (HBO, 9 p.m.).

“Prodigal Son” (Fox, 9 p.m.) is vexed by the girl in the box mystery.

A woman is trapped in a rage room on “9-1-1” (Fox, 8 p.m.).

On “All American” (CW, 8 p.m.), Spencer gives his dad an ultimatum about his new player.

There hasn’t been an elimination on “Dancing with the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.) for a couple of weeks, and Sean Spicer really needs to go.

On “The Neighborhood” (CBS, 8 p.m.), the Butlers and the Johnsons go on a double date.
