What would Tracy Flick do? Concern yourself with a wholly fictional race in Alexander Payne’s 1999 “Election” (Pop, 8:30 p.m.) with Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon.

There’s a new German language standup comedy special if you want to go there: “Felix Lobrecht: Hype” (Netflix, streaming). With subtitles.

In the Japanese film import “Mother” (Netflix, streaming) is a dark psychological thriller. Not to be confused with Bong Joon Ho’s 2009 South Korean film of the same name.

Kobe Bryant is honored on “The Best of All the Smoke” (Showtime, 10 p.m.).

There’s some more digging on “The Curse of Oak Island” (History, 8 p.m.).

An offer you can’t refuse: “The Godfather” (AMC, 5:30 p.m.) paired with “The Godfather, Part II” (AMC, 9:30 p.m.).

Also there’s “Rocky” (Paramount, 7 p.m.), “Rocky IV” (Paramount, 10 p.m.) and “Rocky Balboa” (Paramount, midnight), skipping right over II and III.

And almost nobody has bothered to pair “Fletch” (Flix, 8 p.m.) with “Fletch Lives” (Flix, 9:45 p.m.).

Other film distractions tonight include “The Green Mile” (IFC, 9 p.m.), the animated “Rio” (Nickelodeon, 9 p.m.) and “The Last Samurai” (BBC America, 10 p.m.),

And the Yuletide never stops some places, even three weeks before Thanksgiving, with the replays of “The Christmas Club” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.), “Christmas in Louisiana” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.), The 2019 “Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses” (Hallmark, 10 p.m.) and “A Christmas in Tennessee” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.).

But it all goes wrong on a sister station: “The Wrong Tutor” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m.), “The Wrong Man” (Lifetime Movie Network, 10 p.m.) and “The Wrong Tutor” (Lifetime Movie Network, midnight).

The 10th episode of “Women Make Film” (8 and 11:15 p.m.) alongside some of its examples, “Outrage” (9:15 p.m.), “Boat People” (12:30 a.m.), “Born in Flames” (2:30 a.m.) and “Hannah Arendt” (4 a.m.).

Today begins with New York love stories on TCM with, “Dear Heart” (6 a.m.), “Sunday in New York” (8 a.m.) and “Sweet November” (10 p.m.), followed by an afternoon with Peter Sellers with “I Love You, Alice B. Toklas!” (noon), “The Bobo” (1:45 p.m.), “Lolita” (3:30 p.m.) and “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” (6:15 p.m.).

There are practically no sports on tonight, but there is MLB’s Gold Gloves Awards Show (ESPN, 8 p.m.).
