“City Hall” (PBS, 8 pm., check local listings), the latest of Frederick Wiseman’s vérité documentaries, minus narrators, centers on the governmental workings of Boston, from grand pronouncements of Mayor Marty Walsh to the tiniest complaints from residents seeking resolution, all seen in the unvarnished style of the filmmaker, at the top of his game at age 90.

The 2020-21 NBA season, shortened to 72 games, opens with a couple of big games, with Golden State at Brooklyn (TNT, 7 p.m.) and Clippers at Lakers (TNT, 10 p.m.)

There will be no next season for “Next” (Fox, 8 and 9 p.m.), so the artificial intelligence-gone-haywire series starring John Slattery ends with a pair of episodes. 

Tayshia makes her choice, and the suitable guy gets pressure to propose on the finale of “The Bachelorette” (ABC, 8 p.m.).
