Fresh from playing Gloria Steinem in the under recognized series “Mrs. America,” Rose Byrne stays in the time period in the new series “Physical” (Apple TV+, streaming) playing a woman who finds herself through aerobics, as her husband runs for local office. I thought the inspiration may have been Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda, who found a similar workout success, but it’s about show creator Annie Weisman’s own bout with self-hatred and bulimia.

Period pieces are always kind of appealing, and Byrne does a good job to make the series interesting.

The latest Pixar feature “Luca” (Disney+, streaming), about a young boy in Italy who learns he’s a sea monster, is free to subscribers without an extra fee. Jacob Tremblay and Jack Dylan Grazer are among the voice talents.

Kevin Hart and Alfre Woodard star in the new film “Fatherhood” (Netflix, streaming) just in time for Father’s day. Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, Anthony Carrigan, Melody Hurd and Paul Reiser are part of the cast of the film produced in part by the Obamas.

On a new series, three trailers go traveling to find “The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals” (Netflix, streaming).

From India comes the Tamil-language action thriller “Jagame Thandhiram” (Netflix streaming), a gangster caper.

The John Stamos basketball series “Big Shot” (Disney+, streaming) has a season finale, of course with a big game.
