John Cena returns to the character he played in last year’s “The Suicide Squad” as the over-the-top “Peacemaker” (HBO Max, streaming), as a superhero who has to fight for attention and respect and does a million thing wrong. As welcome as its comic approach can be (in a world where there’s too many caped heroes taking themselves too seriously), it’s not clear who the show is for: it’s too raunchy for kids, and too childlike for grownups. Middle-schoolers maybe?

From Japan comes the dramatic series “The Journalist” (Netflix, streaming) based on the 2019 movie of the same name about a fearless newspaper reporter known for exposing political corruption.

From Australia comes the romantic comedy “Wolf Like Me” (Peacock, streaming) starring Josh Gad and Isla Fisher.

The soapy “A House Divided” (AllBLK, streaming) returns for its fourth season.

The new series “Married to Real Estate” (HGTV, 9 p.m.), follows a husband and wife real state and contractor team, Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, on the job and in racing their three daughters.

A doctor is investigated for fixing odds for a sports betting syndicate on “The Blacklist” (NBC, 8 p.m.).
