An early February day began with the installation of the Artist Calls the Song, from the Clash (choosing Sam the Sam) and Arthur Conley (presenting a handful of sweet soul greats).
Presented my five votes for 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees (and played a few other women nominated this year). There were remembrances of Nashville session great Hargus “Pig” Robbins and Ventures guitarist Don Wilson and echoes of recent shows here by Courtney Barnett and Ike Reilly.
Shout out to Los Lobos, playing the Winter Dance Party 2022. Plus ukuleles, a return to the Carolinas, and a few minutes of explained silence two hours in, among other odds and ends.
