Tuesday TV: Fat Joe Hosts Hip Hop Awards

Fat Joe hosts The BET Hip Hop Awards (BET 9 p.m.) from Atlanta, with Drake leading with 14 nominations, followed by Kanye West with 10 and Kendrick Lamar with nine. Trina will receive the I Am Hip Hop Award. Performers include French Montana, Joey Bada$$, N.O.R.E., Pusha T, Armani White, Bleu, EST Gee, Gorilla and Moneybagg Yo. It’s preceded by a new episode of “Rap City ’22” (BET, 8 p.m.).

The new series “Making Black America” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings), from Henry Louis Gates Jr., is a four-episode documentary series stressing the positive aspects of black culture and community. It’s followed by the new documentary “Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) provides a new look at the civil rights champion. 

Former host of his own show, the comedian now has his second standup special, “Nasan Minaj: The King’s Jester” (Netflix, streaming), filmed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. 

The new series “Love Off the Grid” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) involves people who fall in love with partners who are roughing it off the grid.
