How long ago did you quit “The Walking Dead” (AMC, 9 p.m.)? The long-running zombie classic, that lasted several seasons too long and lost a whole lot of viewers, runs its final episode tonight in the series finale after 11 seasons.The event warrants two episodes of “Talking Dead” (AMC, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.) both before and after (and presumably its final episodes as well).

Wayne Brady hosts the 2022 American Music Awards (ABC, 8 p.m.) live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live. Performers include Anitta, Ari Lennox, Bebe Rexha, Carrie Underwood, Charlie Puth, Dove Cameron, GloRilla, Imagine Dragons, J.I.D, Lil Baby, P!NK, Stevie Wonder and Yola.

In what’s billed as his last North American concert here’s “Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium” (Disney+, 11 p.m.), live

The 2022 FIFA World Cup plays the first of 64 matches in its tournament in Qatar. First up is Qatar vs. Ecuador (Fox Sports 1, 11 a.m.). 

American Sunday Night Football has Kansas City at Chargers (NBC, 8:15 p.m.). Earlier games include Washington at Houston (Fox, 1 p.m.), Jets at New England (CBS, 1 p.m.), Las Vegas at Denver (Fox, 4:05 p.m.) and Cincinnati at Pittsburgh (CBS, 4:25 p.m.). 

Ending its second season is “Miss Scarlet and the Duke” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings).

The revamped, updated “The L Word: Generation Q” (Showtime, 8 p.m.) returns for its third season.
