The ambitious adaptation of Philip Pullman’s fantasy trilogy “His Dark Materials” (HBO, 9 p.m.) reaches its end after three seasons. Its makers had plans for further storytelling, but the network had other plans for the series starring Dafne Keen, Amir Wilson and Ruth Wilson. They close with two episodes tonight.
