Thursday TV: Doc Martin Calls it Quits

After an 18 year run and 10 seasons, the character of “Doc Martin” (Acorn TV, streaming) is retired with a final Christmas-themed episode. Can the cranky doctor played all these years by Martin Clunes be changed by the holidays? 

The new series “Deadline” (BritBox, streaming) stars James D’Arcy as a journalist looking into the case of an accused murderer, played by Charlie Murphy. 

The four-episode “Coach Prime” (Amazon Prime, streaming) looks at the 2022 season of the Jackson State University Tigers led by Deion Sanders. 

“Gangs of London” (AMC+, streaming) ends its second season. 

Elizabeth Stanton hosts a look back at the year’s trends and big moments in pop culture in the special “Popstar’s Best of 2022” (CW, 8 p.m.).

“The Wheel” (NBC, 8 p.m.) is nearing its end, with Chrissy Metz, Clay Aiken, Brie Bella, Loni Love, Russell Dickerson and Santa Richards Ross helping out contestants.

The RZA is guest on the season finale of “The Best of All the Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson” (Showtime, 11 p.m.). 

Suddenly, much of America can relate to “Life Below Zero: Fight the Freeze” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.).
