“The Climb” (HBO Max, streaming) is a new rock climbing competition, co-hosted by Jason Mamoa. 

Alan Cumming hosts “The Traitors” (Peacock, streaming), a new reality competition based on a Dutch series in which celebrities and champion game players, given a series of challenges in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands. 

Mindy Kaling produces and provides the voice for “Velma” (HBO Max, streaming), the new adult animated “Scooby Doo” spinoff that focuses on the nerdy side character (apparently now a young woman of color). Glenn Howerton, Sam Richardson, Constnce Wu, Jane Lynch and Gary ole are all part of the season. 

From Japan comes “The Makanal: Cooking for the Maiko House” (Netflix, streaming), an animated series about a young man who cooks at a house for apprentice geishas.

The new children’s series “The Makery” (Peacock, streaming) encourages young viewers to create, bake and make things. 

Christina of “Christina on the Coast” now has a new region to help renovate in “Christina in the Country” (HGTV, 8 p.m.).

“Vikings: Valhalla” (Netflix, streaming) begins a second season; “One Lane Bridge” (Sundance Now, streaming) begins a third. And a fifth season returns for “A House Divided” (AllBLK, streaming).

“Walker” (CW, 8 p.m.) tracks down a tech mogul.
