Adam Pally stars as a down on his lock memorabilia dealer who reunites with a grade school pal, who just happens to be Steph Curry (playing himself), in the new comedy “Mr. Throwback” (Peacock, streaming). While it shows Curry in the best possible light, it has the star faking a daughter’s illness to get a charity game organized. It’s pretty fast moving and has some funny lines — that are usually insults, some of which come from Ego Nwodim of “Saturday Night Live,” who plays the the head of the basketball star’s fictional promotional company, Curry Up and Wait.
Still, it seems odd for Peacock to be starting a new comedy at a time when most people will be watching its Olympic coverage — on a day when Curry and the rest of the U.S. men’s basketball team play a semifinal for a chance at gold, with U.S. vs. Serbia (USA, Peacock, 3 p.m.).
The results will be on the primetime overview “Primetime in Paris: The Olympics” (NBC, Peacock, 8 p.m.) as will have medal events for the women’s long jump, men’s 200 meter and other track and field. Also: men’s springboard diving final and beach volleyball semis, not involving any U.S. teams for the first time.

There’s a two hour finale of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” (Fox, 8 p.m.) to close out the season. Other game shows tonight include “President Your Luck” (ABC, 8 p.m.) and “Lucky 13” (ABC, 9 p.m.).
