Reba McEntire returns to sitcom world as the proprietor of “Happy’s Place” (NBC, 8 p.m.), a bar she inherited from her father. But she learns she must share it with a half sister of whom she was previously unaware (Melissa Escobedo). Her old costar on “Reba,” Melissa Peterman, is also part of the cast. 

It premieres alongside the third season start of “Lopez vs. Lopez” (NBC, 8:30 p.m.), starring George Lopez and his daughter George Lopez.

Anna Kendrick plays a woman who meets a serial iller while on “The Dating Game” in the 1970s. Daniel Zovatto also stars in “Woman of the Hour” (Netflix, streaming) a drama based on a real incident.

The new series “Hysteria!” (Syfy, USA, 10:30 p.m.) involves a local heavy metal band trying to capitalize on the satanic panic of the late 1980s who get suddenly blamed for things. Bruce Campbell, Julie Bowen and Anna Camp star. 

From Argentina comes the film “The Man Who Loved UFOs” (Netflix, streaming) about a TV journalist who filed the most alien stories in that country’s history. 

“Shark Tank” (ABC, 8 p.m.) is back to hear pitches for its 16th season. 

Returning for its third season is “Fire Country” (CBS, 9 p.m.), leading into the second half of the final season of “Blue Bloods” (CBS, 10 p.m.). 

Graduation means the end of the documentary series “Social Studies” (FX, 10 p.m.) as well. Maybe they’ve all learned their lesson about social media. 

“NEXT at the Kennedy Center” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) starts a new season, starting with Alonzo King LINES Ballet performing “Deep River” with vocalist Lisa Fischer. 

The heist of a painting goes all wrong for “Joan” (CW, 9 p.m.). 

“S.W.A.T.” (CBS, 8 p.m.) has its eighth season premiere. 

It’s 13 days until Halloween, so naturally here’s the first entry in the Yuletide onslaught, “Twas the Date Before Christmas” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.), a holiday romance starting Robert Buckley and Amy Groening.

Freddy makes a million dollar discovery on “Gold Rush: Mine Rescue with Freddy & Juan” (Discovery, 8 p.m.). 

“Bering Sea Gold” (Discovery, 10 p.m.) reaches the final day of a difficult ice season. 

A whisky joint in East Boston is visited on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” (Food, 9 p.m.). 

“Sweetpea” (Starz, 8 p.m.) tries to find who her victim was. 

Latrice’s launch party implodes on “Belle Collective” (OWN, 8 p.m.). 

“Fat Joe Talks” (Starz, 9 p.m.) about the birth of Def Jam Records.

A fallout approaches for the “Three Women” (Starz, 10 p.m.). 

“Spooked Ireland” (Travel, 10 p.m.) heads to County Galway.

Oh boy they’re doing virus pranks on “Scare Tactics” (USA, 10 p.m.).

“Tia Mowry: My Next Act” (WEtv, 9:30 p.m.) is still awaiting her first blind date. 

Turner Classic Movies’ month-long Friday night series of political films continues with “The Birth of a Nation” (8 p.m.), “Lincoln” (11:30 p.m.) and “Malcolm X” (2:15 a.m.).
