The West wasn’t a nice place, according to the new series “American Primeval” (Netflix, streaming) where the battle is not only among the Native Americans and the cowboy settlers, but an army of Mormons as well. Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin star in the gritty tale of a dangerous trip West, all in sepia tone except when the blood flies. It’s a creation of Peter Berg of “Friday Night Lights” fame.
Alan Cumming presides over the third season of the enjoyable reality competition “Traitors” (Peacock, 9 p.m.), which amasses an array of stars from other reality shows including Boston Rob of “Survivor,” Wells Adams from “Bachelor in Paradise,” Danielle Reyes of “Big Brother,” Crishell Stause of “Selling Sunset,” Bob Harper of “the Biggest Loser,” WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia, and Tom Sandoval of “Vanderpump Rules,” among many others.
Noah Wyle who rose up two decades ago in “ER” returns to a hospital drama in the new series “The Pitt” (Max, steaming), whose 15 episodes takes place in real time, during one 15-hour emergency room shift in Pittsburgh hospital. Tracey Ifeachor, Patrick Marron Ball and Fiona Dourif also star.
Four sisters are shaken by the discovery of their aging father’s affair in the new series “Asura” (Netflix, streaming), based on the Japanese drama “Like Asura” and set in 1979.
Dick Wolf’s latest cop procedural “On Call” (Prime Video, streaming) is only a half hour long. It features Lori Loughlin, Eriq La Salle, Troian Bellisario and Brandon Larracuente.
The latest old game show to get a reboot is “Hollywood Squares” (CBS, 8 p.m.). Nate Burleson is the host, where Drew Barrymore is center square. From Italy comes “I Am Ilary” (Netflix, streaming), a series following Ilary Blast a former soccer wife (who got divorced in a previous series “Utica”)
“Only Murders in the Building” (ABC, 9 p.m.) continues its replay of season two with a couple of episodes.
Emily tries to keep Frank away from a rich benefactor on “Animal Control” (Fox, 9 p.m.).
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (ABC, 8 p.m.) helps a family in Lakeland, Fla.
